National broadband Mission
Recently, Modi Govt announced a mission to bridge the digital divide, make high speed data available to all remote parts of country. As usual all regular suspects ( read so called purogami intellectuals ) started crying. Their main objection was that Modi, instead of taking care of poverty, unemployment and covid, giving attention to something which is not Important.. Really? Let's examine.. Let's take an example of IT park, Hinjewadi, Pune. Once a happening place with traffic jams, limited parking spaces, sky rocketing real estate prices and economy concentrated in a pocket.. But after 4 months of lockdown, picture is completely changed.. No, IT companies have not closed down or shifted their operations. But all the people working in these companies have shifted to their hometowns. Business is as usual for the companies, but there are no traffic jams, real estate prices down in hinjewadi.
